Shamatha – Tranquility or Calm Abiding Meditation

Looking into the true nature of mind requires a base of stable attention. The training of attention is necessary for mediation to be fully effective. When the mind is easily distracted or prone to dullness, it detracts from everything we do. You are welcome to join us for meditation instruction and practice sessions. You may attend the whole day or just the morning or afternoon sessions.

Fees: In keeping with Buddhist tradition, the teachings are offered free of cost, but donations are greatly appreciated to help cover the operating expenses of the Centre. Canadian charitable tax receipts will be given for amounts over $20.00.
Food: Since we do not have a resident cook, you will need to bring your own food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided during the breaks. A fridge, stove, microwave, cutlery and utensils are available to use in the sangha house kitchen.
Overnight Accommodation: Rooms in the retreat house are free of charge to sponsors, but require advance confirmation by RSVP since space is limited. For non-sponsors, rooms are available at $34 (Includes 3.90 HST) per night. Please contact us in advance to reserve a room to avoid disappointment. There’s also a number of local accommodations available in the vicinity.
