We are very pleased to announce that Khenpo Tenzin Norgay Rinpoche will give Ngöndro Teachings and a Vajrasattva empowerment at Orgyan Dzong on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13.
Ngöndro Teachings – Saturday, October 12 – 1:00 – 6:00 pm
Rinpoche will transmit and teach the Namchö (Space Treasure) Dzogchen preliminary practice which is called “Buddha in the Palm of the Hand.” By accomplishing this practice, one can realize the nature of mind which is an important foundation for higher Dzogchen practice.
The Namchö (Space Treasure) Dzogchen was revealed to Terton (treasure revealer) Migyur Dorje from Arya Avalokiteshvara and Guru Rinpoche and has been passed down from master to student through the centuries. By accomplishing these practices one can realize the nature of mind — an important and necessary foundation for higher Dzogchen practice. The preliminary practices consist of Refuge, Bodhicitta, Offering the Mandala, Vajrasattva and Guru Yoga.
“Although the Namchö preliminary practice is very deep and profound, it is clear and easy for all to practice.”
– His Holiness Penor Rinpoche.
Vajrasattva Empowerment and Commentary – Sunday, October 13 – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
After three Ngöndro sessions in the morning, Rinpoche will give the empowerment of the Namchö Vajrasattva along with commentary and instructions. Vajrasattva is the embodiment of the vajra mind of all the Buddhas whose practice is a method for purifying the defilements of our negative actions. Of all the different methods for purifying the mind, Vajrasattva is the most effective.
