We will be cel­e­brat­ing Orgyan Dzong’s 34th anniver­sary with var­i­ous rit­u­als and cer­e­monies hon­or­ing Pel­ing Rin­poche, the centre’s founder, and Pad­masamb­hava, the patri­arch of Tibetan Bud­dhism whose birth­day falls on the same day the cen­tre was founded on July 7, 1984.  Our cel­e­bra­tions will include abun­dant offer­ing rit­u­als to the Gurus, Bud­dhas, Bod­hisattvas, Dharma Pro­tec­tors and all sen­tient beings, a rit­ual of purifi­ca­tion and rec­ol­lec­tion of the state of real­iza­tion, and the offer­ing of lamps.  By means of these cer­e­monies, we will be mark­ing the aus­pi­cious occa­sion of the centre’s 34th year, express­ing our grat­i­tude to its founder and the lin­eage of enlight­ened gurus whose teach­ings we prac­tice and make aus­pi­cious prayers for the cen­tre, the world, and all its beings.

10:00 am — Pel­ing Rinpoche’s Nying Thig Guru Yoga
11:30 am — Riwo Sang Chö “The Moun­tain of Burnt Offerings”
12:30 pm — Pot luck lunch
2:30pm — Shower of Bless­ings — a Pad­masamb­hava Ganachakra Feast
4:00pm — Offer­ing of lamps and clos­ing prayers of aspi­ra­tion, ded­i­ca­tion and auspiciousness

What to Bring:  Abun­dant, gen­er­ous offer­ings are needed for Riwo Sang Chö and Shower of Bless­ings Ganachakra.

Ganachakra: fruit, cakes, cook­ies, salty snacks, cheese, meat, seafood, crack­ers, candy, fresh culi­nary herbs. Basi­cally any­thing that peo­ple enjoy eat­ing and would be a suit­able offer­ing to the Bud­dhas and Yidams.

Riwo Sang Chö: grains (whole or ground), pow­dered incense, brown sugar, honey, molasses, milk, yogurt, sweet and salty snacks, beer, juice, small pieces of silk of the 5 colours, flow­ers, fra­grant herbs, and a large amount of green cedar, juniper or conifer foliage.

Tea light can­dles are needed for the rit­ual offer­ing of lamps.
