Butter LampsThe Palyul Foun­da­tion of Cana­da is an incor­po­rat­ed, non-prof­it char­i­ta­ble orga­ni­za­tion ded­i­cat­ed to the preser­va­tion and advance­ment of the teach­ings of the Nying­ma lin­eage of Vajrayana Bud­dhism, with par­tic­u­lar empha­sis on the tra­di­tions of the Palyul school, which is head­ed by His Holi­ness Kar­ma Kuchen Rin­poche, its twelfth throne hold­er. The Foun­da­tion funds and main­tains Orgyan Osal Cho Dzong, a 350 acre tem­ple and retreat facil­i­ty, and His Holi­ness’ seat in Cana­da. The Foun­da­tion also spon­sors the vis­its of Palyul teach­ers to Cana­da, the teach­ing and oth­er Dhar­ma activ­i­ties of Ven. Lama Jigme, Orgyan Dzong’s spir­i­tu­al direc­tor, the sup­port of monks and nuns, and main­tain­ing and enlarg­ing its exten­sive library. As funds become avail­able, the Foun­da­tion will begin the con­struc­tion of the Pad­masamb­ha­va Tem­ple for World Peace, and sev­er­al stu­pas (mon­u­ments which sym­bol­ize the enlight­ened mind of the Bud­dha and con­tain sacred relics of Bud­dha Sakya­mu­ni and oth­er enlight­ened mas­ters).
