About Us

Butter LampsThe Palyul Foundation of Canada is an incorporated, non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the preservation and advancement of the teachings of the Nyingma lineage of Vajrayana Buddhism, with particular emphasis on the traditions of the Palyul school, which is headed by His Holiness Karma Kuchen Rinpoche, its twelfth throne holder. The Foundation funds and maintains Orgyan Osal Cho Dzong, a 350 acre temple and retreat facility, and His Holiness’ seat in Canada. The Foundation also sponsors the visits of Palyul teachers to Canada, the teaching and other Dharma activities of Ven. Lama Jigme, Orgyan Dzong’s spiritual director, the support of monks and nuns, and maintaining and enlarging its extensive library. As funds become available, the Foundation will begin the construction of the Padmasambhava Temple for World Peace, and several stupas (monuments which symbolize the enlightened mind of the Buddha and contain sacred relics of Buddha Sakyamuni and other enlightened masters).

The Foundation issues official tax deductible receipts for all donations it receives.  If you would like to make a donation, you can donate securely by credit card or PayPal by filling out and submitting this form or you can also send a cheque or money order payable to “The Palyul Foundation of Canada” to our address:
